Squint at this car. What is it? A 1976-77 Monte Carlo? A 1977-79 Ford LTD II? No, friends, it's a...
1978 Chrysler Cordoba! Basically, a tarted up Fury, in the same way that Thunderbirds of the day were just really cool LTD II/Torinos and Monte Carlos were Chevelles after a trip to the beauty parlor.
And no, this is not a 1979 Ford LTD, which is what I thought of. As an evolving Ford guy, I (of course) blamed the earlier in time Cordoba for copying the yet-to-be-released LTD. Because #HighSchoolLogic
This particular Cordoba has found a better purpose in life than trying to shame Rivieras at the country club. Floor shift/ Shift kit. Gauges and gauges and gauges instead of idiot lights. Plus those bucket seats aren't standard issue. They're no Recaros, but they have to be grippier than a loose pillow Corinthian leather bench seat.
So yeah, we're glad the old girl made it through, even with the leisure suit styling.
